Business profile

Welcome to Pleasley Pit

Pleasley Pit (Colliery) was sunk in 1873 and produced coal until 1983. Pleasley Pit is now a Scheduled Ancient Monument and has been developed and maintained as a Mining Heritage Site, Museum, Nature Reserve, Country Park, Visitors Centre, Cafe, and Tourist Attraction. The day to day management of the site is undertaken by the Pleasley Pit Trust charity and volunteer staff. Visitor Centre Our new Visitors Centre is home to our Cafe, Function/Class/Meeting Room, Shop, and Office. We have W.C. facilities on site as well as outdoor seating and our original cafe building. We also have heritage items on display. We provide rooms for hire to organisations looking for an interesting venue. We also provide space to support our sites nature reserve activities. We rely on your contributions to improve Pleasley Pit. Thanks to your ongoing support, we can continue ensure our mining history is accessible to everyone.
