I am a glass beadmaker working in Somerset in the South West of England. I create my unique designs by melting rods of glass in an open flame and manipulating them to form beads. Designs and patterns are added using thin 'stringers' of glass, precious metals and enamels. All of my beads go straight from the flame into a hot kiln which is cooled gradually in order to remove the stress from the glass and ensure its durability. I have customers all over the world who buy my beads for use in their jewellery designs and often work to commission. I also make and sell my own jewellery in galleries and at open studio events. I intend to start selling my jewellery online in the near future.
