SOUND TRANSFERS is a small studio devoted to to the Recovery and Preservation of Sound Recordings on old and obsolete Grooved Disc and Magnetic Tape Media and provides Accurate Transcription and a High Quality Service for Library Collections and Sound Archives. For 17 years, the British Library Sound Archive employed John Davies and SOUND TRANSFERS as an external contractor to work on many of its important disc and tape digitisation projects. SOUND TRANSFERS is well-equipped to make high quality transfers from 1/4 inch (6mm) reel-to-reel tapes, compact cassettes, mini-cassette, mini-disc, wax cylinder records, wire recordings and digital audio on Betamax tapes.
