The "Preen Community Challenge" aims to encourage people to reuse things by 'rewarding' community projects in the areas that do best. It's a simple idea - towns and parishes earn points for the reusable items their residents donate or buy at the Preen Reuse Centres in Biggleswade or Dunstable. Preen will give cash and prizes of over £27,500 to communities who earn the most points in a number of categories including - most tonnage donated, most used goods purchased and highest percentage of residents taking part. Every Town and Parish Council in Central Bedfordshire has been invited to promote and participate in the Challenge and there are special rewards for schools who take part by organising reuse events
