MUMC, Manchester University Mountaineering Club, was founded by The Rucksack Club - a Manchester based Mountaineering Club - in 1927 We aim to introduce newcomers to the sport of climbing by providing support and instruction to novices, teaching them the basic skills that are useful and essential saftey aspects As one of the largest clubs we get good financial support from the Athletic Union and this has enabled us to build a large store of gear for both club trips and from which members can borrow equipment
