Fine Art prints
Many so called prints sold on the internet or on the High Street are actually reproductions. They are copies of work produced in a different media. Their value is often exaggerated and despite often being sold as limited editions using language like 'Exclusive Fine Art Print', these are not original works of art. They are copies of works of art that may be decorative but have no intrinsic artistic value. If however you want a piece of REAL art, you should aim to buy an original work. It will cost you less than a reproduction from a department store and often less than one of the over-hyped reproductions sold like time-shares. Even though processes like lino-cut, collagraph and silk screen produce multiple images, because each one is hand made, there will be small differences between them and they are all originals and individual pieces in their own right.
