Business profile
Having spent most of the last 10 years closed, this ancient coaching inn reopened in December 2015 after having been completely renovated by owners Richard and Fiona & their three children. The result of their efforts is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in a great location. Sitting in either the bar or restaurant, it feels not dissimilar to sitting in a Welsh farmhouse kitchen, with a real homely feel. Since re-opening he and Fiona have been experimenting with suppliers and trying to source all their produce from local producers, including meat from Richard's of Crickhowell, also sources beef from Tretower Farm, which one can see from the window seat in the bar! Also, Primrose Farm near Three Cocks, supplies organic vegetables and edible flowers which feature on the eclectic menu with a distinct continental flair. This influence is a result of Richard and Fiona having lived and working in Southern France for some 9 years prior to purchasing The Kestrel. The extensive wine list reflects Richard and Fiona's vast experience in the artisan wine marketplace. The Kestrel Inn is a family run restaurant with rooms; situated on the A40 between Crickhowell and Bwlch.
