The Tranquil Otter provides luxury holiday rental in a tranquil setting in rural Cumbria. A nature reserve with ancient woodlands and a private lake, each of our lodges is south facing with lakeside frontage, so that you can enjoy beautiful views and watch the wildlife on the lake. We offer self catering in a far from the beaten track setting, close to Hadrian's Wall and to the historic City of Carlisle, close to the border with Scotland. Each lodge has a lakeside hot-tub, open to the skies. Watch the wild fowl during the day and the stars at night. The deck provides a feeling of seclusion and privacy. The lodges are fully furnished and are independently assessed each year by Visit Britain. Each lodge comes complete with mod-cons including a log burner as well as a boat with which to explore the Lough. High speed internet access is available in and around the lodges.
