Bereavement Counselling
Counselling is an ongoing process that takes place through relationship. The work is facilitated by the therapist and carried out by the client. The session itself may work on bringing to awareness, areas of the clients life and wounding which may previously have been repressed in order to protect from the pain involved. In this way a lot of feelings and emotions may arise as the client reconnects with these previously cut off parts of themselves. The session is used to bring these parts of the self into consciousness and to allow connections to be made by the client. During the end of the session through summarising the integration process can begin to take place. This is not confined to the session but continues beyond as the clients sits and works with what has emerged and the impact of that emergence.
