Most people are familiar with the iconic images of Japanese woodblock prints, whether it's the Great Wave of Hokusai, Hiroshige's serene landscapes or Utagawa Kuniyoshi's heroes, ghosts and demons. Not everyone realises, however, that these beautiful and mysterious masterpieces are so accessible and affordable. Here at Toshidama Gallery, we want to share our long-held passion for the vanished beauty and drama of the Floating World of nineteenth century Japan... a world of Samurai and Geisha, doomed lovers, jealous spouses, suicidal warriors and powerful women battling demons and ghosts and occasionally sea-vegetables.
