Medical Ultrasound Scans

Our ultrasound scans cater for patients who wish to attend for ultrasound screening and those who are unable to wait for their hospital appointments due to long waiting lists. All of our ultrasound scans are carried out by qualified Sonographers who work in the local NHS hospitals. We use top of the range ultrasound scanning equipment, General Electric's Voluson which also has 3D/4D scanning capability. Medical diagnostic ultrasound has come a long way since its introduction in the 1960s. This is largely due to advances in sonar and computer technology over the past 10 years. Ultrasound scanning is ideally placed as a first line diagnostic tool because it is non-invasive and does not require special precautions as are required with x-ray, CT scanning etc. We do not require a referral from your doctor if you are well and wishing to attend for our one of our ultrasound screening packages. However, we do require a referral from your doctor if you are symptomatic or have a previous history of a condition for which you wish to be assessed.
