Concerts, Lecture-recitals and Educational Workshops Not just concerts - uniquely engaging and highly entertaining presentations of some of the most beautiful music from the classical repertoire presented by the trumpet soloist, lecturer and founder of Chaconne Brass, Mark Kesel. Through these performances, Mark Kesel explores the world of the trumpet and trumpet playing. In the popular lecture recital The Square on the Hippopotamus there are demonstrations and explanations of a huge range of brass instrument, their history and development, from the flugel horn to the piccolo trumpet and the peashooter to the pocket trumpet. The intimate concert performance entitled Soiree Musicale features enticing 18th Century works for trumpet and strings given in period costume and is a dramatic insight into the life of the Court musician.
