Following completion of thecourse, candidates should be confident in introducing new controls or implementing changes as appropriate to ensure safety in the workplace.Who should attend: Any person required to manage risk and resources within their organisation. Course duration: 4 days in total – split into 2 sittings of 2 daysLearning objectivesOn successful completion of the course, delegates should be able to:· Explain ‘working safely’· Explain the component parts of a recognised safety management system such asHSG65, BS 8800, and OHSAS 18001· Identify and demonstrate the procedure for an accident investigation· Be able to set achievable safety and health objectives and plan and implementcourses in order to achieve those objectives· Demonstrate a practical understanding of a quantitative risk assessment techniqueand the data required for records· Describe workplace precaution hierarchies· Outline the main provisions of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and theManagement of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999· Outline relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice, guidance notes andinformation sources such as the Health and Safety ExecutiveCertification: Candidates are awarded the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate aftersuccessfully completing the course assessment.Course dates and location: 19 th and 20 th November and 26 th and 27 th November 2008at Saltford Golf Club (see http://www.saltfordgolfclub.co.uk/location.asp for directions)Price: £595 per person.
