(mm) 2400 x 200 x 100 (Hardwood) (Subject to stock) Although accurately machined and an attractive golden brown when first produced they quite rapidly turn a light grey and are prone to warping and splitting. Unlike reclaimed 'Rustic' Oak types new Oak sleepers are likely to move after installation. This is partly because they are usually made from 'Green Oak' which may not be properly seasoned. They are heavier than the softwood 'Tanalised' equivalent type and not as durable unless properly treated prior to placement.
