Social Media marketing works for construction!

I speak to company directors who have no idea what their websites currently look like, no clue if they've actually changed since their inception in 1995 or was it 1998?A lot of businessmen don't have time to keep up with Social Media and digital marketing trends, they're too busy keeping their company afloat, time are tough out there. The cash you spent on that old website may have seemed like a lot of money back in 1995 and it's almost forgivable, that some businesses have no idea if they've received a decent ROI or not.  Depending on your company and what services or products you sell or provide, you may well have covered your investment during the 1st week? But that was years ago, how much has that neglected website earned you over the last few weeks or months? What's the ROI like when you need it the most?As I've said before, your Blog or website represents you, your company and everything you do.  Just as your staff, whether they like it or not, ALL market your company, it's crucial that you are well represented. If your contact details are hard to find, people won't contact you.If your news headlines are 6 months old, it doesn't create a great impression, does it?If your photographs are substandard and your copy is dull and lifeless and ALWAYS the same, it appears that you just don't care!Who looks for a company that doesn't care, when they want a product or a service? To me, it looks as though the Blog can't fail to win this modern warfare in the Blogosphere and for a number of very good reasons:People (customers) want and deserve more than they did in 1995.Old news is NOT relevant, exciting or satisfactory.Traditional websites, due to their design, are often not built with the customer in mind.Old static websites are often not built to provide a wealth of information to the potential customer.Intrusive and excessive 'calls to action' are just not acceptable unless you are offering the latest MLM system that will guarantee to make you an 'overnight success'.1990's websites do not have true connectivity, where are all the icons and buttons for , Twitter, , Digg, Posterous, StumbleUpon, etc?  They're just not there!Static websites do not offer a selection of embedded YouTube videos to add value to the viewing experienceOld websites don't make it obvious how many people are engaging on a daily basis, they don't tell you (simply) where (digitally) the audience came fromMost old websites can't translate the content into a host of different languagesThe majority of old websites can't show you what countries provide you with the most viewers don't easily or readily tell you about the keywords and phrases people are using to find youOld fashioned websites NEVER change.
