4QD was established in 1991 and since then has been providing motor control solutions for a wide variety of customers and applications. 4QD Ltd is run by Steve Smith and Erica Richardson, and our mission is to help mechanics get the electrical parts of their projects working. Steve has a background and degree in Electronics and Physics, and a love of all things mechanical and electrical. He is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology as well as the Institute of Physics. Steve is responsible for product design, production, purchasing and technical support. Erica has a degree in Mathematics and Computing from Loughborough University. She has worked in IT consultancies developing software for a wide variety of applications. Erica is responsible for IT, sales, finance and customer service. 4QD was founded in 1991 by Richard and Mary Torrens, ownership changed in 2014.
