We are delighted that 61 people are now working towards this new professional qualification in tendering and procurement and more are waiting to start.It was also good to see a requirement to obtain this qualification included in the person specification for a Business Development Manager position The need for the qualification was identified in June 2008 when we were asked by a large charity to draft a job description for a senior manager who would take responsibility for all of their tendering activity In January 2009 we recruited some willing "guinea pigs" from amongst the Tendering for Care Membership and commenced the delivery of the pilot course with sixteen people divided into three groups Delivered by telephone conferencing and with students at locations spread from Scotland to Somerset and Manchester to Kent we have been able to test all aspects of course delivery
