Business profile
Filton Golf Club is a private member's club that welcomes non-members to experience the challenge of the course and pleasant ambience of the clubhouse. Societies are welcome on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Play for non-members at weekends is only possible as a guest of a member. We ask for the sight of a current handicap certificate or evidence of golfing ability and expect all golfers to conform to the normal standards of dress and conduct. We accept county cards and 2Fore1 vouchers subject to times of time events, competitions and matches. The Club was founded in 1909 when a nine-hole course was laid out on land rented from the city council and the lord of the manor, J. Atkin Waller of Pen Park. The Club became so popular that it was extended to eighteen holes in 1912 and a clubhouse built. The Club's first professional, E. Crook, was engaged in 1911. It was not, however until 1979 that the Club was able to purchase the land on which the course sits.
