Are you confident of keeping your job, your partner, your children, your home, your money? Which of us can say yes? What happens when your world falls apart? Emmaus is a charity that helps people when that happens. But it does it in a special way – by helping people help themselves by helping others. The Emmaus community in Brighton and Hove accommodates 40 people and we run a community café, garden centre and charity shop.We collect donated furniture (ring us Tues to Sat, 10 to 5 on 01273 426480 to arrange collection) and household goods and refurbish them in our workshops and sell them at low cost. Residents stay as long as they need and are helped to find accommodation and a job when they are ready. Our opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 5 (we are closed on Sundays and Mondays).
