Reflexology aims to improve well-being by restoring balance to the body. It is an ancient natural therapy that has been practised for the last 2000 years. Based on the theory that numerous reflex points found on the feet correspond with nerve pathways which link to various organs in the body. Using special thumb, fingers and hand pressure techniques it works by stimulating the nerve endings found in these reflex points, unlike general massage which works more on the muscles of the body. This is more then just a treat it is a treatment that can have many benefits. These include helping improve circulation and for some people better pain and symptom control has been reported. More commonly it has been shown to promote relaxation and feeling of wellbeing.
