A very well established writing instruments specialist in the UK, Pen Sense was established in July 1980, by Amarjeet and Gillian Panesar to offer a wide range of writing instruments along with the expertise necessary to sell them. Along the years, they transformed the store from a traditional stationers specialising in writing instruments to a luxury goods store, still with emphasis on writing instruments. Adding Cartier and Dunhill leather goods along the way.In 1996, a Montblanc shop-in-shop, the first in the UK was opened. Today, the Pensense Montblanc shop-in-shop is the largest in the UK, also selling Montblanc's expanded range of personal goods, e.g. cufflinks and small leather items.
