In 1975, Paul and Doreen Tipping set up shop as a family business supplying the people of Liverpool with fabrics and haberdashery. Both of their mothers were keen seamstresses; whilst one made hats and booties, the other made sailor dresses. In the 1970s knitting and sewing was massively popular, and it was common to see people queuing out of the door for the latest fabrics!
