Narrative TherapistI am always pleased to answer questions, and to explain the way I work, before people are committed to a first session. Narrative therapy helps people clarify for themselves alternative paths in life to that of problems, one that comprises a person's values, hopes and intentions. At the heart of narrative therapy is the idea that our lives and identities are shaped by the stories that we are told of who we are and what we may be by our families, communities and culture - as well as the stories we tell ourselves and each other about our lives. I am interested in enabling people to work with me to fully explore and describe their life stories, including the political, cultural and social contexts of these, and to engage with the possibilities associated with those stories. As an associate member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy I adhere to the 'Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy'.
