Our maps are the only ones showing surname distribution in ancient counties, before the great movements of population and the explosion in the birth rate towards the end of the 19th Century We believe our GB maps, which show distribution by place of birth, have more merit than place of census as a means of identifying the likely origins of a surname, although comparing different views of the distribution of a surname can be useful We take a pride in producing quality products which give both interesting and informative results as well as an attractive and decorative product
