Nucleus Arts' Chatham Art Centre was opened in 2002 by The Halpern Charitable Foundation as a space for local artists to develop and display their talents We realised that in addition to providing studio and exhibiting space at affordable prices to artists, we needed to help break down the barriers some of the public felt in accessing contemporary arts Sited in a former mews our Chatham site can be found just yards from Chatham High Street, conveniently close to the town centre's car parks and bus and train stations In addition, we have an electric kiln for hire and offer an ongoing programme of exhibitions designed to inspire, excite and educate N.B. Our technician is freelance and not on site permanently so all bookings must be made in advance
