New DC 5000 Xerox Digital Press
The Printing House has made annual savings of £40,000 by cutting its digital outsourcing work after investing in a Xerox DocuColor 5000. Production director Peter Harrison told printweek.com: "We are now bringing in £15,000 each month from our digital work alone."The 34-staff printer made the investment in digital as it was "excited" to offer its clients personalised work, which it carries out using XMPie software. The DocuColor 5000, which features 2,400dpi print resolution, is designed to roll out between 30,000 and 150,000 impressions per month. It joins two five-colour Sakurai Oliver presses, a 572 and 566, a Heidelberg ST100 stitching line and Polar guillotine.
