Drawing on classic and contemporary themes from Morocco and across the world, Ma Maison is a popular establishment that specializes in Moorish furniture style and home interior. Situated on Leith Walk, Ma Maison is renowned throughout Edinburgh and beyond for its esoteric and extensive collection of Moroccan lanterns, lamps, furniture and gifts. Furniture includes an extensive range of dining tables and coffee tables in mahogany or natural wood, including traditional Indian rosewood. Thuya, or the Ancient Tree of Elegance, is a tree, which only grows in the Atlas Mountains, and there's a great array of accessories made from this wood, including beautiful boxes and chess sets. The staff here are all Moroccan, ultra-friendly, and only too happy to help and inform you about the pieces available. Ma Maison's walls are draped with classic rugs, and beautifully hand-finished mirrors, many adorned with semi-precious stones, and often tiled, showing the Moorish influence. If you're looking for lighting the array here is dazzling. Hand -crafted Moroccan lanterns come in tin, antique brass, silver nickel or iron, and are often decorated with pieces of coloured Iraqi glass. Come have a look through their wide range of accessories - Each item is distinct and carefully crafted, meaning you'll have that something extra in your room or garden. Due to the extraordinary success to the first store in Edinburgh, a second shop has been opened in East Kilbride Shopping Centre - offering the same high quality and authentic Moroccan interior. Moroccan crafts have rightly gained a reputation among designers or being rich in quality and decoration. As a specialised art, MaMaison is delighted to offer the delights of Moroccan living to British public. Anyone wishing to create their own Mediterranean atmosphere in the comfort of their own home should pay a visit!
