FAQs

my child is 3 years old, is he too young?

Sorry,we can only take children from as young as five years due to insurance issues.

Is judo good for my child?

Judo is arguably one of the most safest contact sports there is.

Do coaches need qualifications?

I'm glad you ask... Any martial Art coach should able show you qualifications from a governing body. In our case, all coaches are qualified at various levels, all are DBS cleared, All are certified in child safeguarding and child and vulnerable people welfare, first aid and, inclusion and diversity. If anyone claiming to be a coach can't qualify these basic training programs, walk away.

How soon can I become black belt?

You can get a black belt tomorrow!!! Just go down to your local sports shop. However, being worthy of a dan grade [black belt] is a different story. Progression through the grades to brown belt can take a few years regularly training twice a week. Gaining a black belt is not easy, it's not meant to be. it can be done in two years of dedication, commitment, and 2 to 3 sessions a week.

I feel that I am too old, can judo help me?

indeed. Age is no barrier. Training can, and will, be tailored to one's age and ability [or disability]. Please take the time to contact us and chat about any issues you may have.
