Expressed through their vocabulary of land-form, planting, paving, structures and water, they evoke or provoke an emotional response from their owners and their visitors.""A garden should be so much more than a collection of plants.""A house may also be a home, but it remains essentially a building. If the house is surrounded by a garden, it acquires a quality of place. If the house is surrounded by a unique, designed garden, it becomes a very special place."
