Lucion Marine provides surveys for hazardous materials on vessels around the World, whether they are due to be recycled, traded or being built.  The survey can take place while the vessel is at sea or in port and our surveying teams are able to meet and leave the vessel at most ports internationally. The survey is designed to identify and quantify all of the hazardous materials on the ship.  Such materials are:·                     Asbestos - from άσβεστη meaning "unquenchable") is a set of six naturally occurring exploited commercially for their desirable physical properties. They all have in common their asbestiform habit, long, (1:20) thin fibrous . The of can cause serious illnesses, including malignant , (a formerly rare strongly associated with exposure to asbestos), and (a type of ). The main source of these atoms in the stratosphere is of (CFC) compounds, commonly called , and of compounds known as .The report, the Inventory of Hazardous Materials or Green Passport, that is issued once the survey is completed provides a "single list" solution to a ship owner who can then update the list as changes to materials on the vessel happen. The Green Passport should be re-inspected annually to ensure its relevance and a full re-survey of the vessel carried out every five years.  It makes sense to use the company that provided the initial Green Passport to carry out the re-inspections in order to save surveyor time costs. To discuss your Green Passport requirements call +44 (0)191 4618999 or email for a call back.Lucion Marine - part of the Lucion brand.
