•Have knowledge of the rights and duties of drivers as regards t the initial qualification and periodic training. •Understand the origins and types of legislation and how they are designed to make the roads safer to use. •Be aware of the importance of the Highway Code as the basis for safe driving including the regular changes to advice given to drivers. •Identify the agencies that enforce the legislation and the risks to individual and company repute by non-compliance of the legislation. •Action that can be taken by authorities to encourage individual and companies to maintain adherence of the regulations to promote safer driving environments. •To promote safety by a comprehensive vehicle check prior to driving and driving when the vehicle is legal.
