The Coniston Hall Campsite is a 5 minute drive south of the village of Coniston. It is signposted on the left of the road just after you've passed The Ship Inn pub. There is a bus stop on the main road here, linking Coniston to the town of Ulverston. Coniston village itself is about a 45 to 60 minute drive from the M6 motorway. The Coniston Hall Campsite is very well located for getting to some of the Lake Districts best walks/outdoors activities (it's just a 30 minute drive at most to Windermere, Ambleside and the Langdales), and it's walking distance to Coniston Village and the lovely surrounding fells. If you can be hopeful of sun and no school groups, then the campsite would definately merit an extended stay. If only they segregated the noisy campers from the quiet, it would be great! As it is though, it's clean enough, and well located, and good value, so not a bad bet. Open from March to October.
