Flexible Screw Conveyor

Trantec also specialise in Screw Conveyors both in stainless and carbon steel in various profiles. Flexible Screw, or Flexi Screws as they are commonly known, transport the same manner of materials as other feeders e.g. flakes, powders etc. They can be used with multiple discharge points to provide fast and effecting filling or delivery of a product. With their special design and method of transport, this eliminates the use of an agitator (with some products) providing a simple and effective process. This then provides great value for money with such a low-cost machine. Flexi Screws use a rotating spiral inside a plastic tube (usually UHM, PEEK or UHMWPE) to propel materials. Larger and/or faster rotation provides greater feed rates. For trickier materials, the simple rounded spiral may not be appropriate, Trantec provides square, triangular section spiral, which has a profile that will provide greater bearing on substances/materials. Due to the method in which Screw Conveyors are designed, and their simplicity, it allows for gentle method of transport without the risk of damage to the product, or boring through products instead of transporting. With the flexi tube being a sealed unit, this helps eliminate the chance of contamination through products mixing, or by air, as the tube is sealed and waterproof.
