Hilary Adair is an artist working with paint, either oils or acrylics, on canvas and watercolour on paper, and drawing with all sorts of different media. As well as painting she makes prints, mostly etching with some silkscreen printing and mono prints. She finds that the two areas of painting and printmaking overlap and though very different are also complementary. If a painting equates to a novel, then an etching is more like a poem, with it's own unique range of marks and textures
