Our one and two year diplomas provide you with everything you need to practice as a qualified Dietary Therapist or as a practitioner of Nutritional Therapy.The pre requiite to this diploma is the Level 4 Dietary Therapy DiplomaA qualified Nutrition Therapist assesses the whole individual and works with the client to achieve and maintain health through nutritional means. They will work with clients with chronic health problems and provide advice on disease prevention and control.The focus of the college is to promote the therapeutic value of food and the enjoyment of eating throughout the life stages. We also have a strong focus on Clinical Practice where you will work with your fellow students and members of the public.This course builds on the skills developed during the Dietary Therapy Diploma. Through gaining an understanding of the concept of health and the individual you will be able to examine the full range of aspects which impact on well-being. You will come across new areas of study around Nutritional Herbology and Genomics and understand the possible consequences of interactions between foods, nutraceuticals, herbal medicines and drugs.To ensure that you become a competent practitioner of Nutritional Therapy, you will understand the ethical, administrative, legal and business environment in which the health care practitioner must operate and be able to write literature reviews and research proposals to gain funding for projects.With this qualification, you will be able to work in private clinical practice, with nutraceutical companies and research organisations.
