Piltdown Golf Club in East Sussex is close to Uckfield, Haywards Heath and Lewis and was founded in 1904. The course was constructed on Piltdown Common near to the Piltdown Pond. It has no sand bunkers and is not particularly long, measuring just over 6000 yards from the medal tees. The terrain is fairly level but the narrow fairways, small greens and an abundance of heather and gorse make for challenging golf
