Proof-editing
In publishing, copy-editing and proofreading are carried out as separate processes. Proof-editing is carrying out proofreading and copy-editing as a single process. This is particularly appropriate for non-publishing and non-academic clients. It covers the nitty-gritty of grammar, spelling and punctuation as well as drawing out any issues with sentence or document structure, clarity and consistency and suitability of tone for the target audience.
