Hanbeck Block Stone extracts a range of Limestones from their quarry at Great Ponton in Lincolnshire. Situated midway between Lincoln and Stamford the quarry has many beds of stone similar to those of other local quarries at Ancaster, Clipsham, Creeton and Ketton. Hanbeck Block Stone carry a stock of over 400 tonnes of block stone at any time in varying sizes from 2 to 10 tonnes. The Clipsham Member is a semi-dense warm beige/honey coloured shelly stone and is suitable for Masonry, internal Flooring and Ashlar work. The Witham beds are a very dense cream stone with feint beige swirls and fossil clusters particularly suited to internal flooring.Ponton Basebed is a semi-dense cream/off white stone with a very subtle banding and is suitable for all works including Ashlar, Flooring and Carving.Hanbeck Block Stone have recently supplied Ponton Basebed for a Hospital extension in the West Midlands and Clipsham Member for a Church restoration project in Cambridgeshire.
