Helicopter capacity at British Grand Prix reduced significantly
Traditionally the British Grand Prix at Silverstone is one of the busiest weekends of the year for helicopter charter flights with over 4000 aircraft movements across the 3 days of the grand prix. Development work being undertaken around the Porsche facility at Silverstone Circuit and further restrictions on land around the heliport have caused a significant reduction in the capacity of the heliport in 2014. With more passengers than ever expected to fly by helicopter to the grand prix this year, a reduction in capacity will cause some disappointments come race day. In addition the Silverstone heliport operator have also implemented a slot application deadline of Monday 30th June 2014 with slots due for payment immediately upon allocation. After this date we will not be able to apply for slots on behalf of our clients. Slots will now be issued on a first come, first serve basis until reduced capacity is reached. We therefore urge all of our valued customers to book their helicopter flights well in advance of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
