Zero-Emission Energy On Demand
In the global race toward Net Zero, the hardest challenge hasn't been decarbonizing our lightbulbs or our laptops; it has been finding a viable, scalable replacement for the "workhorse" of the industrial world: the diesel generator. For decades, industries ranging from construction and live broadcasting to disaster relief have relied on the raw, portable power of internal combustion. But that power comes with a heavy price, choking exhaust, relentless noise, and a massive carbon footprint. Enter GeoPura. GeoPura is not just a green energy company; it is a critical infrastructure pioneer. They are the architects of a silent, emission-free revolution, providing the bridge between our current fossil-fuel dependency and a future powered entirely by renewable gas. By harnessing the most abundant element in the universe, hydrogen, GeoPura is proving that heavy-duty industry can operate at full capacity without compromising the planet. The Technology: How GeoPura Power Works At the heart of GeoPura’s impact is the Hydrogen Power Unit (HPU). While traditional generators burn fuel to create mechanical energy, the HPU uses chemistry. Developed in strategic partnership with Siemens Energy, these units are sophisticated, containerized power plants that can be deployed anywhere on Earth. The process is a masterclass in clean engineering: Green Hydrogen Input: GeoPura utilises green hydrogen, which is produced via electrolysis powered by wind or solar energy. This ensures the entire lifecycle of the fuel is carbon-free. The Fuel Cell Reaction: Inside the HPU, hydrogen is passed through a fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen from the ambient air. Electricity Generation: This chemical reaction creates a flow of electrons, clean, high-voltage electricity, with zero combustion involved. Zero-Emission Output: The only byproducts of this process are pure water (H_2O) and usable heat.
Employees
Mr Andrew Cunningham
CEOAndrew graduated from the University of Nottingham with a First Class degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and after an initial spell working for a small R+D company, started and ran several high technology companies. One of these companies, AVT, developed the electronic financial trading systems still used by every bank in the world. Andrew is also the inventor of several key patents relating to secure communications. When Reuters bought AVT in 2002, he ran the Financial Trading Division of Reuters for six years. In 2008, he retired from formal paid employment and learned to sail. From 2009, he has invested his personal money in sustainable energy research and development, with particular interest in renewable energy storage and zero-emission fuels. In 2019, he was appointed Managing Director of GeoPura, a collaboration with Siemens Energy and Siemens Mobility to bring to market and commercialise affordable hydrogen and zero-emission fuel-based technologies. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham.
