Calm, tidy refurbishments for Edinburgh homes
Sweet Homes is an Edinburgh-based joinery and interior refurbishment company specialising in kitchens, bathrooms, fitted storage and small but meaningful interior projects. We work mainly in tenements, villas and lived-in family homes, where clear planning and respectful behaviour matter as much as the finished result. Clients choose Sweet Homes for clear written scopes, straightforward pricing and a calm, organised way of working. We protect floors and shared stairs, tidy up at the end of each day, and keep communication simple and consistent from first visit to final handover. Most of our work comes from repeat clients and recommendations. All projects are covered by a 12-month workmanship warranty, and if something isn’t right after you’ve lived with the work, we come back and put it right.

Clear quote, tidy team, calm kitchen refit
Sweet Homes helps homeowners in Edinburgh and nearby towns improve kitchens, bathrooms and key living spaces without chaos or confusion. We’re known for clear written scopes, straightforward quotes and real time cost tracking so clients can see where they stand. On site we protect floors and stairs, keep things tidy at the end of each day, and communicate steadily about what is happening next.
Careful work in tenements, villas and family homes
Most of our work is in tenements, villas and family houses, where careful planning and respectful behaviour in shared stairs matter just as much as the finished room. Clients choose us for a steady team who are easy to have in the house, and honest conversations about what is realistic for each property.
Known for tidy work, clear quotes and respectful conduct
Sweet Homes has a strong track record in Edinburgh tenements, villas and family homes. We’re rated highly by homeowners for tidiness, clear quotes and respectful conduct, and known for real time cost tracking and honest conversations about scope.
From full refurbishments to focused small projects
From full room refurbishments to smaller projects such as hallways, box rooms and utilities, our focus is on thoughtful layouts, strong joinery and calm, organised work. We’re comfortable saying when we’re not the right fit, and we aim for work that respects both the building and the people living in it.
FAQs
Are you more expensive than other builders?
We’re not the cheapest option in Edinburgh, and we’re open about that. Our pricing reflects careful planning, tidy work in lived-in homes and clear communication throughout the project. We provide written scopes in plain English so you can see exactly what’s included. If something feels high, we’ll talk it through and suggest sensible alternatives rather than cutting corners.
Will the price change once work starts?
As long as the agreed scope stays the same, the price stays the same. If we uncover something unexpected, such as hidden pipework or damage, we stop and explain the options before any extra work is done. Nothing is added quietly at the end. Changes are discussed and agreed before we continue.
Do we need to move out while the work is being done?
In most cases, no. The majority of our projects are carried out in lived-in homes, often with families and pets. We plan the work to keep disruption manageable, protect floors and stairs, and tidy up at the end of each day. For kitchens and bathrooms there will be periods when the room is out of use, and we explain this clearly before work starts.
Do you have experience working in Edinburgh tenements?
Yes — a large part of our work is in Edinburgh tenements and older properties. We’re used to narrow stairs, shared access and close neighbours. We protect shared areas, manage deliveries carefully and keep stairs tidy throughout the job. If needed, we’re happy to speak with neighbours about timings so everyone knows what to expect.
Do you take on smaller projects or only full refurbishments?
We take on smaller interior projects where thoughtful joinery or layout changes make a real difference. This includes hallways, box rooms, utility spaces and fitted storage. We’re not a handyman service for quick one-hour fixes. If you’re unsure whether your project is the right size, send a short description and a few photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
What happens if something isn’t right after the job is finished?
All our work is covered by a 12-month workmanship warranty. At the end of each project we walk through the work with you and deal with any small snags. If something comes up after you’ve lived with the space for a bit, you can contact us and we’ll come back to put it right.
What happens when we first get in touch?
The first step is a straightforward conversation to understand your home, your ideas and whether we’re a good fit. There’s no hard sell. If it makes sense to move forward, we arrange a site visit to measure properly and talk through options. If we’re not the right team for your project, we’ll say so.
