Call it ceili, ceilidh or barndance, a mix of traditional country dances and songs is a great way to celebrate almost any occasion. The five-piece Burdock Band brings a friendly and enthusiastic caller who comes down onto the dancefloor to show you what to do.Gerry's catchy accordion sits at the centre of the Burdock Band sound, supported by multi-instrumentalist Mick on guitar, banjo, mandolin or hurdy-gurdy.Lilting melodies are supplied by Belinda on flute and whistle and Emma on fiddle, while Vicki's bodhran and percussion drives the rhythm and sets toes tapping. It's a rich, vigorous musical texture with plenty of bounce to encourage ceilidh dancers to pick up their feet. When the dancers need a rest, relax with a pint and listen to Emma's versions of popular Celtic songs. It's an excellent recipe for a great party. The band comes equipped with a high-quality PA system that produces an excellent sound in venues of all sizes.Friendly and approachable, the band will be very happy to discuss your event with you beforehand in order to tailor the music and dancing exactly to your needs.
