Mestre Pelicano, as part of Filhos de Bimba, teaches Capoeira, a Brazilian art form combining combat, self defence, music, dance and rhythm. Capoeira can improve posture, energy levels, coordination, balance, agility, fitness, strength and self esteem. It is an art and a philosophy, not just a sport. Classes are every Monday and Thursday at St. Silas Church Communty Hall in Byker, 7-9pm for adults (price £5.50/£5 concessions) , and Mondays 6-7pm for children (price £3.50).
