IELTS Preparation
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) certificate is an official World proven test of English Language, accepted by thousands of organisations in over 135 countries. The General IELTS format focuses on basic survival skills in broad social and workplace contexts. It is typically for those who are going to English-speaking countries to do secondary education, work experience or training programs. People migrating to Australia, Canada and New Zealand must sit the General IELTS examination.This is a part-time course which includes language skills and exam techniques to prepare students for the IELTS exam. Classes are run in the afternoon with lessons from Tuesday to Thursday, totalling 19.5 hours per week. Each class focuses on different areas (listening, speaking, reading & writing) and includes examination techniques. You will also be expected to complete homework tasks and study outside the class; advice and guidance on self study will be provided. All teachers of this course are TEFL certified and experienced in teaching English for higher education purposes and IELTS Preparation.Please note this course is only open to students who are at intermediate level or above. We advise you attend the course until you reach the required level. All students will be assessed using an English language test developed by our teachers to allow us to grade your level of English language at the start of the course.Local IELTS examination centres are and . Examinations are several times a month however you must apply at least six-weeks before your required test date. Current fees for IELTS examinations are £115. At GISOEL we run a free focus group to help with the IELTS examination application process. See webpage for more information on IELTS test dates and fees.You will be offered a choice of course start date when you book your course blocks. Class sizes are up to 8 students per class. We advise booking well in advance of your desired course start date to ensure enrolment for your date of choice.Course bookings are in blocks of 4 weeks (1 block = 4 weeks). Discounted fees are applied when booking more than one block. You MUST pay a deposit when booking this course. IELTS examination fee is not included.
