Servo amplifiers provide DSP control
Omega amplifiers cover the power range up to 75A continuous (120A peak), with single and three-phase power supplied. Distributed in the UK and Ireland by Total Motion Systems, (TMS), Glentek's Omega series of digital PWM brushless servo amplifiers offer high-performance DSP control for both rotary and linear brushless servomotors. The amplifiers are available in two modelsThe Full Feature servo amplifier operates in current (torque) or velocity (rev/min) mode, using a +/-10V analogue input as a command reference, while the Pulse Follower model incorporates all the features of the Full Feature servo amplifier while also accepting digital pulse inputs for position command reference. The Omega series amplifiers are available in several packages. The stand alone package consists of a servo amplifier, DC bus power supply, regenerative clamp and dumping resistor in-rush current limiting protection at power-on and a cooling fan. It used for single and multiaxis applications that require direct AC operation. The module package consists of a servo amplifier only and does not include the DC bus power supply. This offers small mechanical form factor and is a very cost-effective solution for single and multiaxis applications where the customer provides the DC bus supply and forced air cooling. The multiaxis package consists of an open frame chassis with a DC bus power supply, a regenerative clamp and a dumping resistor, in-rush current limiting protection at power-on and cooling fans. It is available in either two or four-axis chassis configurations and is more cost-effective than standalone versions as there is one common DC bus supply that supplies all modules on the chassis. It can also be operated directly from the AC line (no transformer required). Omega amplifiers cover the power range up to 75A continuous (120A peak), with single and three-phase power supplied.
