The Wimbledon Dentist - Reception Desk
We've recently completed this reception desk for The Wimbledon Dentist in London. 21mm Thick Staron solid surface material was used for the desk and the detailing on the curve. This polishes to a high gloss, is extremely durable and can if needed be re-polished a few years down the line so that it looks as good as new. The joints were glued and sanded to leave almost invisible seams. On the curved area, the Staron was cnc-routed from above and below. The routed logo was inlaid with 2mm thick plastic cut outs to give a flush, durable logo with added depth. The name of the practice was under-routed and up-lit leaving a beautifully smooth and softly lit finish that was warmed by the lighting to produce a very pleasing surface to lean on. The back-lit front curve was achieved with LED lighting mounted in a removable channel to aid servicing.
