FAQs
How long will a blood test take?
We will ask you fill in a form and answer some health questions, then the test will take place. This whole process usually takes 20 minutes.
I am needle phobic and struggle with blood tests, can you help?
We offer a calm quiet environment, and will go at your pace. We will discuss how you want to go forward and everything will be on your terms. We use very fine needles so you are unlikely to feel much, and we can stop at any time.
Can you take blood tests from arms covered in tattoos?
Generally it is not advisable to take bloods from a tattooed site. There is a risk of contamination through the puncture wound. Also the tattoo may become damaged. We will only carry out a test through a tattoo with the clients consent.
What do I need to do to prepare for a blood test?
Always ask if you need to stop medications, supplements before a test. For example if you are having your B12 tested you would not take a B12 supplement prior to the draw. Make sure you are hydrated as this can make blood taking easier. Have a bit to eat, provided you are not having a fasting test. Try not to rush to and from the appointment, any blood loss can have an affect on some individuals.
