W H Collier is a small independant works producing handmade bricks. Bricks have been made at Marks Tey by W H Collier since 1863. The range of products include 65mm facing bricks, bricks and briquettes for fireplaces and special shaped bricks. Fireplaces using W H Collier briquettes are known and used nationally. Clay used for brickmaking at W H Collier is dug locally from a feature laid down in the inter-glacial period over 10,000 years ago.
