Norfolk formulated a concept and structure for a Virtual School to support Looked After Children in 2006 and successfully bid to be part of the national DCSF Virtual School Heads pilot in 2007 Training opportunities offered through the Virtual School We are responsible for improving the educational attainment of all Looked After Children in the authority; including those that have been placed in schools in other authorities and those from other local authorities who are being educated in Norfolk Our aim is to ensure that through equality of access to a first class education and other learning opportunities, there is a rise in attainments of these children and improved longer term outcomes
