Crown Thinning - This is the selective removal of some of the smaller branches within the crown in order to either let more light or wind pass through. Crown Raising - This is the removal of some of the lower branches of a tree. This is most often applied when there is an issue with access. This is also known as a crown lift. Crown Reduction - Removing a portion of the outer crown whilst retaining it's original shape or creating the optimal shape. This serves to reduce the overall size of the crown. This is also known as crown shaping. Deadwood Removal - This is the removal of dead pieces of wood from the tree. This can be very important as dead wood can be brittle potentially causing hazards. With all of these services, it is important not to trim more of the tree than necessary.
